12 Week Fall Adult Improv Classes
Learn collaboration, performance skills, and improvisation skills, then perform LIVE in Auburn Public Theater's Stage Right!
Program instructed by Tim Mahar.
The program runs every Tuesday starting September 9th through November 25th from 6:30 -8:00pm at Auburn Public Theater.

Classes culminate with a community showcase on November, 25th, 2025 at 6:30PM. A ticket link will be provided at a later date for friends and family.

Tuition is $300, and need based scholarships are available.

“i solemnly swear” is an exhibition about the consequences of conscription and deployment into combat. Syracuse artist Paul Pearce was drafted into the US Army in 1967 and deployed to Vietnam in 1968. “I should never have been a soldier, and yet I was a good soldier,” Pearce says. “For this reason, I am haunted by what I did and what I witnessed. When people say, ‘Thank you for your service,’ my reply is, ‘Don’t thank me for my service, you don’t know what I did. My country made me do it and I was just a kid.’”

Film Screening: “The Flying Ace”

Presented in partnership with the Wharton Studio Museum, this program explores the 1926 race film The Flying Ace directed by Richard E. Norman and starring Lawrence Criner. In 2021, the film was selected for preservation in the U.S. National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.

Dr. Samantha Sheppard, Associate Professor of Cinema and Media Studies in the Department of Performing and Media Arts at Cornell University, will introduce the film and a Q&A will follow the screening.

Discovering Tiny Worlds

Explore the miniature world of forests and meadows along the Harrison and Meadow Trails. Using microscopes, hand lenses, and other tools we will experience complex ecosystems that support larger communities from the ground up. Journey with us into worlds unknown and overlooked!

More details: This program is designed for ages 18 and up. Space is limited. Online pre-registration is required. This program will follow the Harrison and Meadow Trails. These moderate flat trails are packed gravel, packed dirt, and grass. Resting benches are available. Our total route will be about 1 mile.

Lunchtime Lecture: The Other Miller Girl: Lazette Worden, Quiet Conductor and Lady of Pisgah

Lazette Worden, older sister to Frances Seward, endured a difficult marriage, returned to Auburn, and built a home named “Pisgah” along the Underground Railroad. Shellie Clark Dolan, whose doctoral dissertation uncovered the careers of these remarkable women, shares more about Lazette’s legacy. This event will take place at the SHM Event Center (Barn) and is FREE and open to the public.
